VARIGEPLAGG - 2023

VARIGEPLAGG, facilitating for better purchases

VARIGEPLAGG

Is a conceptual community-based platform that lets consumers explore brands and specific clothing items, when they are in a decision-making process, based on a quality score. The quality score is based on other users ranking of items in their closet and is determined by their perception of the garments durability, material and value for money.

LINK TO SUMMARY

The website is the result of a project investigating how to facilitate for consumers to buy better quality clothing. The website’s purpose is to show how the findings of the project can be practically applied.

Background & process
How to facilitate for consumers to buy better quality clothing.

Hypothesis
“Buy better, buy less” focuses on the wrong consumer benefits.

Target group
Clothing-interested consumers in a buying situation

Stage 1 - exploring the hypothesisSecondary resarch: mainly focused on consumer behaviour, communication & how to quantify quality of a garment.

Primary research: mainly focused on in depth interviews with the target group.

Stage 2 - redefining the scope The challenge does not lie in the focus of “Buy better, buy less” but rather in the existence of a knowledge problem within the target group which can be divided into three categories:

Stage 3 - exploring the categories

New round of primary and secondary research attacking each category separately.

Stage 4 - defining a solution space.

Based on the findings from stage 3 defining a solution space for each category based on the most pressing user needs.

Stage 5 - exploring the solution space

Investigating where the three spaces overlap looking at how they can be combined into one solution.

Stage 6 - applying the findings

Finally, showcasing how the findings of the project can be used in a practical way resulting in VARIGEPLAGG.
