Min idrett - 2024
Min idrett - work for NIF through Sopra Steria

Flow for a first-time user - Min idrett

As part of my summer internship at Sopra Steria 2024 I worked for Norges Idrettsforbund. Togheter with developer Eva Teisberg and service designer Snorre Frøyland we were tasked with  helping the team at NIF with their ongoing project of a mobile app for the service Min idrett.

Flow - adding a family member to a group

Since the task was so open, we designed a scope that we could handle in the six week timeframe we where given. The scope was set to handeling the journey for a first-time user completing the core activity of the app:  becoming a member of the right  group and answering the first activity.

Delivery

To create a sustainable solution for NIF that other designers can pick up and use we created a description of each part of the flow with rationale for each desicion. Including the goal of each frame, rationale for flow, content and UI. We also included a suggestion on how to work with their design system as they where inbetween two different unfinished systems.

Process

Given our short time period for the project we decided to go for a fast going and rapid-iterating process.

Stage 1 - Categorizing previous insights and work

Mapping previous design work, insights from users and getting an overview of the application.

Stage 2 - Defining the scope

Defining a realistic scope for the summer, in collaboration with the client based on their most pressing design needs.

Stage 3 - An iterative loop

Going in an iterative fast-paced loop: creating a prototype du each Friday, user testing the prototype on Monday, presenting results to the client Tuesday, define areas of improvement and finally creating an improved prototype due Friday again.

Stage 4 - Creating a sustainable delivery

Presenting the insights and finished work in a way that new designers easily could understand our decision-making and continue in the same direction.

Impact of the project:

A finished more user-friendly and tested flow.

A better understanding of the value and importance of proper data-driven design work amongst the client.

A more accessible and understandable foundation for future designers on the application.
